Francesca Zantomio is currently Associate Professor of Public Economics and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and External Affiliate at the Health Econometrics and Data Group (HEDG), University of York. Her research fields spans from health economics to the analysis of social care and welfare benefit provision, with a focus on older poeple. She has conducted research on the targeting of disability benefits, disability measurement in surveys, the measurement of inequalities in health and healthcare access, the evaluation of policy interventions in the area of income support and the distributional analysis of public intervention. More recently she has been studying the impact of health shocks on labour market outcomes and comorbidities in physical and mental health.
On these topics, she has published in the Journal of Health Economics, the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society (Series A, Statistics in Society), the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Fiscal Studies, Economica, and others. She has been acting as referee for the Journal of Health Economics, the Italian Journal of Health Policy, the Review of Income and Wealth and Research in Economics.
