Eugenio Anessi-Pessina graduated from Bocconi University's Management programme in 1987. His major was Public Management. He then received his MA (1992) and PhD (1997) in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Currently, he is full professor of public management at the Catholic University in Milan, Italy. In addition, he is senior fellow at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (Department of Health Care Systems), director of Cerismas (a research centre on health-care management), and editor of Azienda Pubblica (a leading Italian-language public management journal).
His research interests include public-sector budgeting and accounting, health-care management, and management control in government and health-care organisations
